Why the name "Beer after Mission"?

How it all started
Originally, the software did not even have a proper name. It was simply called the “LSRG Drinks List.” Within our club, the software was available via the subdomain liste.lsrg.de, which worked perfectly well.
Over time, members of other clubs at the airfield started asking whether it would be possible for them to use the software as well. At first, I considered offering the project as open-source software in a self-hosted setup. However, that would have meant that each club would have to host it themselves, install updates, and deal with the configuration. That was when the idea of creating a platform was born.
We need a name!
So the search for a name began. It had to be catchy and somehow related to drinks or lists. With the help of AI, I came up with names like tablist, tally-list, and other similar ideas. However, none of them really appealed to me.
At some point, I remembered a song with the chorus:
“This is the Beer after Mission, the Beer after Mission 🎶” (originally in German)
which had once been invented and sung by a fellow pilot from another club. I still need to track down the full lyrics.
Perfect. Everyone loves having a beer or a cold drink in the evening after a long cross-country flight, a day of duty at the airfield, or simply a great day of flying. In other words: the Beer after Mission.
